Happy Hippie Friday

The DO lectures are very simple, they gather Doers to speak about what they are doing in hopes of inspiring the rest of us to do something too. Architects, Authors, Ecologists, a Beekeeper, a climber and and inventor speak on many different topics ranging from food, climate change, and furniture design. Very inspiring. Very informative. Incredibly hilarious. And great accents, to boot!


The little Miss and I are off to a Halloween-themed story time at our library and have a day + night full of monkey costumes and treats. I hope you all have a Happy Halloween and enjoy a wonderful fall weekend!

Halloween Owl Bean Bags

Sela and I made these little guys yesterday afternoon, and we've had lots of fun throwing them around. They are SUPER easy to make, I made both in about 2 hours and did the sewing by hand, so if you're sewing machine savvy they would probably take only minutes to complete.

I just doubled my wardrobe...

On Wednesday I hit up the j.crew warehouse sale at Thanksgiving Point.....twice. I picked up fourteen pieces for 100 bucks, including 2 really fancy schmancy skirts, a dress, and a wool blazer. I saw woman buy a GORGEOUS raw silk wedding dress for $25, it was unbelievable!

Happy Hippie Friday

Good morning!

I can't tell you how excited I am to finally see Friday! Whew! I spent a good part of yesterday getting stitches in my pointer finger, so blogging is a little, um.....painful, to say the least. I did, however, want to share one of my current favorite books, Eat Pray Love. So good.


This is such a lovely book. It's heartbreak, sorrow, hope, pleasure and love, all wrapped up nicely this beautifully sweet story about starting over.

Give it a read, it will make your heart happy, I promise :)
