a little enormous project

I'm in the midst of planning a carnival for a church activity at the end of the month. I'm really excited about the vintage carnival theme; I have loads of ideas + plans up my sleeve: bold stripes, yards of bunting (I've already sewn a couple hundred tiny triangles. yeeps.), bunches of colorful balloons, and blue ribbon pies.

Here's hoping my budget can keep up with my dreams...

do you have any awesome (and cheap!) carnival ideas? i'm pretty sure i've exhausted the carnival themed birthday party/wedding google search option, like this one + this one + this one. as for my budget + dream conundrum? i'm hoping with a little creativity, a bunch of work, and lots of help we'll be able to pull it off. i'll post pictures in a few weeks (if it's not a total fail...).
